We have switched to batteries & inverter, I purchased 3 deep cell batteries and a 1200 (3500 max) inverter. the batteries ran $100.00 each and $170.00 for a made in china inverter.
We only use the batteries for the compressor, and switch off the inverter when not in use, we have yet to need more than one battery a day, there have been some very busy days as well.
Our compressor draws very little amps as well so this helps.
Though at our last event it was so hot out we had problems with our compressors over heating and shutting off. (a little off topic)

Did I get it right, you use one battery a day? Can you reload the battery in the night and use it again the next day?

Yes, at night I put it on a 30amp charger and recharge it, I am sure the day will come when I may need all 3 batteries.
